Where & how to get native plants

So we've persuaded you to grow some native plants.
Good! But where are you going to get them?

Here is a list of nurseries in the greater Perth area that specialize in native plants.

  • APACE COMMUNITY REVEGETATION NURSERY, 1 Johannah St N. Fremantle (specializes in plants local to the Perth area). Their "sub-site" has a soil map and the catalogue is linked to it.

  • AUSTRALIAN NATIVE NURSERIES GROUP, 141 King Road, Oakford WA 6121. (Supplies a range of tube stock plus some larger plants)
    phone: 9525 1324 fax: 9525 4703 email: farmtrees@hotlinks.net.au

  • BOOLA WONGIN NURSERY, 619 Armadale Road, Forestdale. Wholesale only.

  • CARRAMAR COASTAL NURSERY, Lot 5/885 Mandurah Rd, Secret Harbour. (specializes in coastal plants)

  • GEOGRAPHE COMMUNITY LANDCARE NURSERY, 2km South of Busselton Bypass at 366 Queen Elizabeth Avenue. Open Mon-Tues 8.00 am to 4.00 pm. Contact number: 0429 644 885. Nursery list available on the web site. Note that they only grow local area flora.

  • LULLFITZ NURSERY,  Caporn St cnr Honey Rd, Wanneroo also at 1071 Thomas Rd, Oakford. Both wholesale nurseries open to the public 7 days a week.

  • MEN OF THE TREES. The link is to their nursery and catalogue page. Here is the link to their main page.

  • MUCHEA TREE FARM, Lot 214 Archibold St Muchea, WA6501(The link is to their catalogue of WA plants.)

  • ORANGE VALLEY NURSERY specialises in Eremophilas but has other stock. Open by appointment only - phone (08) 9293 2569, 0407904386.

  • ZANTHORREA NURSERY, 155 Watson Rd, Maida Vale (Their web site has a stock list)

You could simply go to your local plant nursery and choose from their stock. However, most nurseries in Perth stock only a few native plants - and many of these are not from WA and require a fair bit of water.

We have a "catch 22" situation in which they don't stock our plants because  there is little demand and so few people look for them and consequently there is indeed little demand. By all means  ask them to get in the plants you want, to convince them there is a demand.
