Laced Wyandottes can be found in Silver, Gold, Blue Laced
Gold, Buff Laced, Blue Laced Silvers and a few experimental colours.
The Laced varieties have always been popular in Australia and early records indicate they were
immensely popular particularly Silver Laced Large fowl.
BANTAMS : Fanciers in Australia
keep laced bantams in Silver and Gold Laced and more recently Blue Laced Golds and Buff Laced.
Silvers are the most popular colour of this variety but
Golds, and the others are also being kept of late. Good numbers at exhibitions are to be found.
LARGE FOWL : Kept in reasonable numbers and good ones commonly shown at major shows.
Silver Laced Wyandottes are still double mated so excellent exhibition cockerels and pullets
are regularly exhibited. Silvers occasionally press for higher honours at our exhibitions.
Gold laced are falling behind their Silver cousins and good females are much more common than
males. Many of the other varieties are still in the experimental stage of development in
Australia.
