MY GUIDING LIGHT AND GREATEST HERO

RICKY, YOU'LL BE FOREVER YOUNG!
FOREVER YOUNG YOU'LL ALWAYS BE |
WHEN I BID FAREWELL TO MY HERO, I HAVE TO MENTION ONE OF RICKY'S GREATEST HEROES - NAMELY MICKEY MOUSE. MICKEY SENT HIS LOVE TO RICKY (MICKEY'S SPECIAL PAL) WITH THE FOLLOWING WORDS:
NO DISTANCE, OR PLACE, OR LAPSE OF TIME CAN LESSEN OUR FRIENDSHIP!
It's a Tragedy and I can not find any reason or purpose (none that makes me feel any better at least) to why a child should have to die. The feeling of Pain which is left behind is Immense.
Ricky leaves me with so many Beautiful Memories. During his short time with me, he proved to be so Much More than just a Special little boy. The Happy and Positive attitude which Ricky displayed, the Joy he shared with his sister Laura, and his Lovely sense of Humour makes him a part of me for Much Longer than Forever!!!
When the medical profession expected Ricky's Last Night to have arrived for the first time, he woke up during a procedure in hospital and turned to the nurse and asked - "Do you have Galaxy ('cable tv') here?"
Later during that same stay in hospital, when again his Final Moments were believed to be very near, Ricky woke up in the middle of the night and Climbed over the side of the bed and went to ask the nurses at the station for some assistance with a toilet visit!!!
In the middle of all his suffering, when he was Immobile due to Pain and Cancer disease, I once asked Ricky if he did not feel like giving up (his fight); he looked at me with his Young Brave face and said - "Yeah Dad, I feel like Getting Up!!" Such was the Heroic life of my Ricky!!!!!

MEMORIES OF YOUR FIGHTING SPIRIT WILL HELP ME TO
FIND A WAY TO HONOUR YOU MY SON
I KNOW THAT'S WHAT YOU WOULD HAVE DONE
YOU'LL LIVE ON THRU' YOUR SISTER WHILE YOU'RE RESTING IN THE BLUE
I MISS YOU SO AND I AM VERY SAD
MUCH LONGER THAN FOREVER, LOVE FROM DAD
THE PAIN IN MY HEART WILL REMAIN FOR QUITE A WHILE
AND WITH YESTERDAY GONE, HOPEFULLY SOON AGAIN I'LL SMILE
