Ricky's Heroic Fight |

| From February 1994 to 17 March 1996 Ricky was Bravely
Fighting off a Diabolical Disease in the form of PNET Brain Tumours. When I felt like giving up, Ricky kept me going.
Ricky Persevered and Tolerated almost 200 different Medical Procedures by way of blood tests, scans, X-rays, lumbar punctures,
surgeries, anaesthetics, transfusions, chemotherapy, radiation, etc, etc.
Ricky's Courage and Resilience throughout is an Inspiration to me and will help me keep on keeping on.
Ricky has brought me many Precious Moments and the Complete and Unconditional Love that he shared with me will guide me through the difficult times ahead. Only the Memory of Ricky's Heroism can somewhat aid the Pain from my Loss.
Ricky did in a short time show a Great Potential for Achievements that make me, his Father, Glow with Pride - what a Fighter!!!
In all the Pain I have shared my experiences with some of the most Genuinely Beautiful people. People have been Overwhelmingly Generous and Kind. People arrived continuously with prepared meals, they assisted in the care of Laura (who is another Great unsung Hero). People put up with my unorganised manner of asking for help at times, people Prayed for Ricky, they always provided Worthwhile assistance although I sometimes did not think I needed it. People sent Teddies, balloons, cards, money, letters, Flowers, and so Much More. People kept in contact although I would not return calls - Thank You All So Very Much!!!
Another Special Thank You for the
Professional and Caring assistance provided by the Princess Margaret Hospital for children (PMH) and associated services in
general, and Ward 3B in particular; Ward 3B with surroundings feels like a Second Home to me. It is also worth giving the
Silverchain's Hospice Care Service a Special Mention; they helped with Ricky through Incredible Support, Patience and Kindness
until the very end... |
