Sightings Hotline
The phone number for the VUFORS Sighting Hotline has recently changed.

The new number is:
(03) 9517 9599

The Hotline is an answering service that members of the public can use to report sightings or to enquire about the society. Note that calls are charged at standard rates. Please amend your records.

Meteor Over Victoria
Tuesday, 2nd of October 2007 at 9:55pm - "The Age" newspaper is reporting a large green coloured meteor was reported across the north of Victoria, including Melbourne suburbs and parts of South Australia.

Tunguska Crater Discovered?
The BBC is reporting that a team from the University of Bologna believe they have discovered the crater that resulted from what is called, the Tunguska Event in 1908.

Trickle of Planet Discoveries Becomes a Flood

Yahoo & have an interesting article on the accelerating pace in the discovery of extrasolar planets. This pace will only continue as equipment and techniques improve.

Ball Lightning Created In the Lab
The magazine, New Scientist is reporting that the strange phenomenon of ball lighting has been reproduced by a Brazilian research team.

Video of their testing is also available.
