The Blimp Is Back!!!!


Once more there is an airship in the skies over Melbourne & Sydney, this time it is promoting the new Holden Commodore car which was announced recently.

For those that remember the yellow Whitmans Chocolate airship that was around a few years ago, this airship is larger. The Holden Airship also includes a video screen on one side that is used to show advertising. It is nearly 20 meters across and consists of nearly 376,000 LEDs.(See the large black rectangle on the picture).

The airship is internally lit by two 1000 watt lights in addition to the video screen. We are expecting its presence in Melbourne to generate many sighting reports.
(Word from NSW is that they were inundated with reports in recent weeks)

The airship has been spotted in Melbourne on Friday 8 Sept and will probably be attending events such as the AFL finals games this weekend.
