Morini Today

Hard economic times and falling sales forced Ron Angel to abandon the importing of Morini towards then end of 1984. From that time on Morinis only came to Australia via private imports. Ron Angel however continued to import and distribute Morini spares up until 1988 when Moto Italiano (now Moto One) in Melbourne bought up all their remaining spares. What was left of these spares was purchased by in 2000. Phil continues to supply Morini owners with spares from this stock.

Some of the more unusual Morinis in Australia today include a 1964 250 Settebello, Corsaro from 1968 to 1974, a couple of 1983 250 V-twins (both in WA), a 1985 501 Camel, an Excalibur 500 and a 1967 ZZ Corsarino.

Today there are no exclusively Morini clubs in Australia however the Classic Italian Motorcycle Association of Australia(CIMAA) brings together owners of classic Italian bikes. "Classic" roughly means over twenty years old but the rides are open to any motorcycle. There is usually a ride on once a month and a newsletter out every two months. Local branches currently exist in Melbourne and Sydney.
