Environmental Auditing
Of Companies Operation
- An environmental audit reviews a company's operations in order to
identify areas that are, or may, cause an unacceptable impact on the
environment, or not complying with regulatory requirements.
In particular, an environmental audit will:
- Review storage of raw materials, chemicals and wastes and assess
compliance with
.regulations and impact on the environment;
- Review waste disposal procedures and assess compliance with
statutory requirements;
- Review manufacturing processes and identify areas and practices
which have a high
environmental risk;
- Review current emissions to the environment and assess impact on
the environment and compliance with statutory requirements;
- Identify potential emissions to the environment due to accidents,
or abnormal operations and assess their impact on the environment and
compliance with statutory requirements;
- Determine actual or potential emissions which could lead to
contamination of the site;
- If the history of the site is known, assess the potential for site
contamination due to past occupiers;
- Review the company's environmental management system and prepare a
report for the company that includes:

- The findings of the survey;
- The environmental impact, regulatory compliance and subsequent
acceptability of current practices;
- The need to implement or amend an environmental management system;
- A prioritised set of recommendations that
will mitigate environmental risks, or non- compliance with
regulations.
