A kneeling figure from Burma
is down on one knee on a square plinth which has a deep-chevron design around top edge. The worn facial features show a tapered flared nose, prominent mouth, and large eyes and ears. The figure holds a bowl in each hand which are resting on the knees; a worn patina with patches of candle wax.
Material: wood, wax; height: 165mm; 55mm square base.

Provenance:
Time and place of collection from the field is unknown. Acquired from bazaar in Khoa San Road, Bangkok in 1993.

It is likely the figure is used on the altar with candles on the crown of the head and in each bowl.
