012_9.jpg - The Sea Slug (Axis - near the camera) passes the Neosho (Allied), while other ships battle in the background. The simularity between the two did cause some problems.... for the Sea Slug.
013_10.jpg - Again the two of them. The Lutzow in the background.... which promptly shot the Sea Slug (on his own side!).
017_14a.jpg - The Sodak and the Houston going the kill on the Mamiya.
018_15a.jpg - ....and the Mamiya is feeling
it.
017_14_1.jpg - The Lutzow attacking the Neosho. - BF

019_16_1.jpg - And still again! -BF
BUT !
020_17_1.jpg - The Neosho makes it to port
where ..... -BF
004_1.jpg - It sits patiently... TC
021_18_1.jpg - It slowly settles and rolls .... -BF
005_2.jpg - ....and rolls and sinks... -TC
022_19_1.jpg - ...until it rests gently on
the bottom. -BF
Mmmm....... deja vu - see sm-neo-sunk.jpg
from
1998.
019_16a.jpg - The Allied twins (Houston and South Dakota) show no mercy to the Wrath of Khan, a first timer on the water.
020_17a.jpg - And they keep at him!
021_18a.jpg - Still at him, but a bit close this time, see the "overs" to the left of the picture.
022_19a.jpg - Until the Wrath goes under.
039_36_1.jpg _ The Wrath of Khan slides under,
the South Dakota behind it. -BF
This Mamiya was in it's, and the skipper's, first battle. No Leniency
was shown
The now battle hardened skipper plans his next move, for next time,
see -
022_19.jpg
(look at that smile!)
027_24a.jpg - The Wrath afterwards. Notice
the "bullion" ballast, 20c and 50c pieces!
More damage shots to the Wrath below -
Khan-holesth.jpg
Warship17.jpg
023_20a.jpg - The two then move after a new
target, the Tokyo Rose. Notice the Superstructure, which has just been
shot off.
026_23a.jpg - Another nice shot of the Scharnhorst.
009_6a.jpg - The Neosho cruises unmolested for a change!
009_6.jpg - The Burden Bro's - Inspecting the damage to a Liberty.
Clip0002.jpg - And their Fleet.
Warship14.jpg - The Growing VBS Fleet. The Rodney is getting opperational.
012_9a.jpg - The Richelieu and the Lutzow trying to get the tramp.... they don't.
013_10a.jpg - The Lutzow pushes it's way thru the "kelp". The Richelieu, the tramp, and the Neosho in the background.
014_11a.jpg - The damage done to one of the
Liberty's.
021_18.jpg - A damaged Houston moving to battle the Richelieu.
018_15.jpg _ The Richelieu tries to keep the Houston away as it tries to make shore, crippled after a fight with the Sodak. . In the background upper left is the "oil-slick" from the sunken SoDak.
019_16.jpg - But the Houston keeps at it. Meanwhile the Sodak is merrily bubbling away in the background.
017_14.jpg - The Houston moves in for the kill
on the Richelieu. In the background is some of the remains of the Sodak.
031_28_1.jpg - the Lutzow starts to carry out it's famous "Death Roll". BF
Below, the Neosho rushes home VERY Low in the water.
Probably one of the times (Several Times!!!) where it did complete
the course succesfully.
Guess what? The Neosho was sunk a few more times.
007_4_1.jpg - The Richilieu watches as the Neosho noses down and rolls... BF
008_5_1.jpg - ..... right under the water again. BF
015_12a.jpg - Some of the damage done to the Neosho. Nice grouping!
Clip0001.jpg - Some more damage to the Neosho. By the end of the weekend, large portions of it was not balsa, just silkspan and tape, from all the repairs. It is going in for a refit.
016_13.jpg - The grey blob is the last time
the Neosho went down, for the fifth time over the weekend!
(or something like that, I lost count! :(
The Homeport was just 5feet away!!!!
