This weekend I took a break and made way for Jon's trio "String Theory", Linda Lin (keyboard) and Avi Ganesar (bass), with special guest Yuta Hirose. I couldn't help myself though and popped on down with family in tow to have a listen (hey... it was supposed to be a family weekend and I did spend time with my family... the venue was negotiable.).

I must say, they sounded great. Would love to know who taught those guitarists how to play like that...it wasn't me!!! Great being in the audience too for a change. Big Mouth is a great place to hang out, munching on chips and sipping a glass of Sauvignon Blanc (they have a great wine selection by the glass... shameless plug).

We had a surprise musician turn up too... spacial thanks to my old friend and saxophonist Dan Lazner. However, unlike Linda Beatty, our guest vocalist last week, Dan was repulsed by us and it may be a while before we see him again. He probably misunderstood when Jon said "Saxy, Dan, saxy". Can see how that would be disconcerting coming from a pretty boy like Jon.
