TECHNOLOGY SKI CLUB – The First Fifty Years

A glossy hardcover book, TECHNOLOGY SKI CLUB – The First Fifty Years has been written about the formation, construction, history and operation of Technology Ski Club. Written by a group of dedicated members and professionally published, this book makes a wonderful ‘coffee table’ book or just, plain interesting reading.

The book contains 192 pages (A4 size), 70,000 words, 200 photographs and costs just $65.00 including GST plus $10.00 postage. Included too is a CD of all the club’s newsletters since formation of the club in 1956.

The book’s contents cover:

A brief history of Perisher Valley, early skiing in Australia, liaison with NPWS, formation of the Club, planning the original lodge, construction, life with the original lodge, travel to-from the snow, work parties to maintain the lodge, lodge extensions and life in the original lodge until the “Technology move” in the late 1980s. Design and construction of the second and current lodge, its construction and the grand opening. Work parties, maintenance, and administration of the current Club, newsletter, club culture and a complete list of all past and present members.

There is a lot to read, wonderful colour photographs and many anecdotes and stories. It’s sure to put a smile on your face and many trips down memory lane.

This book makes great reading but would also be a great Christmas Gift.
