Spirit of God, who moved upon the waters,
The power of God in creation displayed,
Spirit of God, who came upon the prophets,
Revealing God's word, God's heart and God's way;
This is the Spirit so richly bestowed,
Poured out upon us through Jesus our Lord,
The Spirit of power - the Spirit of God.
Spirit of wisdom, of knowledge, of life,
Spirit of holiness, Spirit of Christ;
Our God, by His Spirit, now lives in our hearts.
Spirit of God, who as a dove descended,
Revealing God's Son, the beloved of God,
Spirit of God, on Pentecost descending,
With gifts and with power, with fruit and with love;
This is the Spirit Christ promised would come,
Sent from the Father by Jesus the Son,
With wind and with fire, the Spirit of God.
