The parish is divided into ten Neighbourhoods and one group of "Outsiders" (those who come to Mass here but live outside the parish boundaries). The purpose of this ministry to to enable regular contact with all Catholics in the parish to build parish community. It is envisaged that on about three occasions during a year everyone will have been visited and kept informed about their parish’s activities.
Care Group This group sets up a network of caring in the parish, provides transport to doctors, etc., arranges household care and meals where appropriate, and visits the sick and elderly. It assists also with funeral receptions.
St Vincent de Paul Society An organisation of Catholic laymen and women who help the needy on a person to person basis. The parish conference is always ready to welcome new members. They meet every two weeks on Wednesday evenings. The St Mary's Conference have recently celebrated their Silver Anniversary.
Canice’s Kitchen The parish is rostered regularly to prepare and serve lunches at St Canices’s Parish, Kings Cross/Elizabeth Bay, for the poor and distressed in the area.
