3 layers of epoxy and I think I’ve plugged all the holes.

I spent several days brushing epoxy (with a little filler) into the gaps between radius strips. A 1-2mm gap between strips allows easy filling without epoxy flowing out the bottom. The gaps were then covered with epoxy and fairing filler.

Planing and sanding for the first epoxy coating took several days. If I had listened to myself and rested when I thought I should, I would not have gouged so many holes with the plane, which needed filling later. I used an Electric plane set to zero millimeters. I’m still looking for someone who will swap right arms with me; mine doesn’t like me any more.

Sanding for the 2nd layer took 2.5 days and I found lots of the filler needed going over.

Sanding for the 3rd layer took 1.5 days and I found I hadn’t fixed all the sagging filler.

Sanding for the 1st undercoat layer only took 1 day and very few filler spots to touch up.

1st layer of undercoat and … how did I miss those sunken filler spots!

2nd layer of undercoat and the dark shadow is disappearing under the paint.

All she needs is a 3rd coat of undercoats and she would be ready to roll over except that I’ve still got a lot of interior to do that will be easier now than latter..
