Dr Paul Lam Dr. Lam is dedicated to promote Tai Chi for its many health benefits. He is an internationally respected Tai Chi teacher, judge, author, producer and a past gold medal winner. He is also a family doctor in Sydney, Australia over last twenty-five years. He spend much time teaching different styles of Tai Chi. Many of his students have significantly improved their health and lifestyles, and been successful in international competitions.Listed below are more information of Dr. Lam being a: Family Physician Dr Lam has been a family physician in Sydney, Australia for 25 years. He graduated from the medical school of the University of NSW on a university scholarship. For the past 10 years Dr Lam has been a clinical teacher and lecturer in medicine. Founder Dr Lam is the founder of the Better Health Tai Chi Chuan Academy. From its beginning 13 years ago, thousands of students have graduated from the Academy, which has expanded to now include 16 instructors. A number of Tai Chi schools in Australia are affiliated with the Academy. Creator of Tai Chi Forms In 1995, Dr Lam created Tai Chi for Health - the 6 Forms based on the worlds most popular Forms, The 24 Forms. This was an innovative project to for beginners to gain maximal health benefits from Tai Chi within minimal time. The 6 Forms became a best seller worldwide, and is being broadcast on TV as a regular program. It is also being taught as a community project funded by government bodies. In 1997 Dr Lam realised the need of a specially designed Tai Chi program for people with arthritis, his team of Tai Chi experts and medical specialists created the 12 movement Tai Chi for Arthritis program. Dr Lam presented this program to the Arthritis Foundation of Australia; it has recognised "the very great merits of the program" and has officially endorsed the program. The complete program is presented as an 80 minutes video. Hundreds of learners have attested the programs beneficial effect for arthritis. Tai Chi Teacher, Accredited Coach and Judge Dr. Lam has taught thousands of students; many of them have been successful at international competitions. He is highly sought after for presenting Tai Chi seminars and workshops. Dr Lam gained governmental accreditation as a nationally accredited sport coach and has been invited to join the judging panels of many competitions. Author and Translator Dr Lam regularly contributes articles to several international Tai Chi magazines, and has been featured on their covers. He is the co-author and translator of The 36 Forms Chen Style Taijiquan and he translated The Qigong Boom published by M.E. Sharpe, NY. Producer of Tai Chi Videos Dr Lam is the producer of a comprehensive series of Tai Chi videos, which are distributed worldwide. Many people have improved their health and lifestyle through using these videos. Past Gold Medal Winner At the Third International Tai Chi Competition in Beijing (1993), Dr Lam won a gold medal for the Combined 42 Competition Forms, as well as two silver medals for the Combined 42 Tai Chi Sword Forms and the Chen Style Forms. The Future Dr Lam is committed to promoting Tai Chi for health improvement. He has combined his knowledge of medicine, Tai Chi and coaching to further this purpose.
