South Coast Taekwondo was
established in 1993 into the Taekwondo Jidokwan system under
the guidance of the late Mr Dale Eagling (6th Dan WTF) who was
the Club's Master Instructor. Throughout the 1990s the Club maintained
a strong bond with the Dale Eagling Taekwondo organisation with
much valuable guidance being provided by Mr Hugh Eagling who
was both the senior black belts' mentor and the Club's grading
examiner throughout much of this period. These early foundations
placed South Coast Taekwondo in a very strong position to offer
the very best in the physical, mental and social training requirements
for today's modern Taekwondo students.
With the untimely passing
of Master Dale Eagling, the head of Taekwondo Jidokwan in Australia,
Master Sung Soo Lee (9th Dan WTF), became South Coast Taekwondo's
Master Instructor and today provides the Club's head instructors
with the necessary guidance to maintain an uncompromising high
standard of teaching.

The Club holds a grading
approximately every 3 to 4 months and a dedicated student can
achieve a belt level each year thereby reaching the probationary
Black Belt level within 3 to 4 years from commencement of training.
All gradings are conducted
in accordance with the prescribed requirements of Taekwondo Australia
Inc and therefore are nationally recognised and transferable.
Black Belt grades are internationally
recognised and accredited. Students are afforded the benefit
of attaining black belt certificates from Taekwondo Jidokwan
and Kukkiwon in Korea.

For those students who are interested
in the sports element of Taekwondo, South Coast Taekwondo also
provides specialised tournament training which allows the student
to compete in state and national competitions conducted by Taekwondo
Australia Inc, the only National Sporting Organisation
recognised by Australian Sports Commission, the Australian Olympic
Committee and the World Taekwondo Federation as representing
Taekwondo in Australia.

Hapkido was introduced
to South Coast Taekwondo in 1994 by Mr Hugh Eagling during one
of his visits to South Australia. However the Hapkido techniques
were at that stage applied to the Taekwondo curriculum as an
extension of Hoshinsul (self defence). In April 1995 Mr Gradisar
was in Hobart Tasmania to be graded by Master Lee for his 3rd
Dan Taekwondo, Master Lee conducted a Hapkido seminar for the
Black Belts and from this beginning, the interest in Hapkido
at the Club intensified. However, at that stage Hapkido practice
was limited to the higher Dan Black Belts as part of there Taekwondo
syllabus.
South Coast Hapkido was
established in 1996 into the Moo Hap Kwan Hapkido system under
the guidance of Master Sung Soo Lee who holds the rank of 9th
Dan with the Korea Hapkido Federation.
The early development of
Hapkido into the Club as part of the Taekwondo syllabus places
South Coast Hapkido in a very strong position to offer the very
best in the physical, mental and social training requirements
for today's modern Hapkido students.
Today Master Lee regularly
visits South Australia to promote the art of Hapkido through
various seminars and gradings and provides the Instructors of
South Coast Hapkido with the necessary guidance to maintain an
uncompromising high standard of teaching.
