Known Issues

The Font Thing currently does not function properly with double-byte fonts on double-byte Windows versions (e.g. Japanese character fonts under Japanese Windows). Symptoms include garbling of font names in the font lists, fonts being marked with the warning symbol (), and the Multiple page not displaying properly (using the default font in many cases).
I'm looking at this, but it is somewhat complicated and a version of The Font Thing suitable for Japanese (etc.) Windows probably won't be available for some time.
When used on non-English version of Windows, the font lists still display English font names and use these to register installed fonts.
This will be fixed in the next release of the program.
A "Cannot delete file:   File system error (1026)." error occurs when uninstalling a font collection where some of the member fonts aren't installed.
This has been fixed for the next release. In the meantime, you can work around this by uninstalling fonts from the font list (rather than the collection list) where necessary.
An error can occur if you have a mixture of installed and uninstalled fonts selected when you use the Install or Uninstall commands.
This will be fixed in the next release. In the meantime, when you want to install or uninstall fonts, make sure all fonts selected for the operation have the same state (the availability of the Install and Uninstall commands currently depends on the state of the first selected font).
Font collection members that are marked with the error symbol () (e.g. font files that no longer exist) can't be deleted from the collection font list.
This will be fixed in the next release. In the meantime, you can use a text editor to edit the appropriate font collection file and delete the offending lines. The file name extension for font collection files is ".TFT".
In some unusual circumstances, the Browse tab doesn't show any drives or folders, and typing a folder into the Address box doesn't work either.
This has been fixed for the next release. If you're desperate for this fix, e-mail me!
Sometimes when you click on a font that hasn't been selected previously, the program will think you've started a drag-and-drop operation.
There's quite a lot that happens when you select a font, and in some cases it seems that this prevents the program from recognising that you've released the mouse button. I'm working on this! In the meantime, use the Escape key to cancel any unwanted drag-and-drop operations.
If you drag-and-drop a previously unselected font *really* quickly, the drag-and-drop mouse pointer isn't drawn at the actual active mouse point.
This also seems to be related to the program being really busy when a font is first selected (clicked). Again, I'm working on this, but am having problems fixing it because it doesn't happen on my machines! If you have this problem, please let me know because it might help me track it down.
