aerial view of North Steyne looking towards Queenscliff |
|
North Steyne Surf Life Saving Club lies roughly half way between South Steyne and Queenscliff. To the north and south of this heritage listed building are large grassed open recreation areas. Here (to the south) you will find the Manly Malibu Boardriders Club who meet on the first Sunday of the month. About a kilometre off shore is a reef where a huge wave breaks on a big swell. The locals know it as the Bombora. Sometimes it is ridden by board riders and windsurfers. |

Dawn, the walkers and joggers are off to an early start |
Rainbow Lorikeet in a local Black Bean tree |
|
Every day at dawn and dusk the air is filled with deafening sound of thousands of brightly coloured lorikeets that squeek and squark as they squabble over their perches in the pines and other neighbouring trees. Dawn also brings out the joggers and walkers who take their daily exercise along the beach front. |
