Broken Capillaries
Couperose
Telangiectasis

Lasers can be used to destroy broken veins without significant effect on surrounding skin or sub-dermal tissues.

Another process, known as electrodessication can also be used to destroy broken veins. By this method a needle is inserted into the vein(s) - electricity is then sent through the vein.

The downside is the need for re-treatments to maintain the results, associated pain and the possibility of some scarring.

The removal of veins also reduces micro-circulation and can lead to a "dulled" appearance and skin which is more prone to environmental attack or premature signs of aging.

Some clinicians offer progressive vein re-structuring procedures based on the use of vitamins and/or other potent antioxidants targeted into the vein or capillary walls.

See Melbourne Dermatology's section on broken capillaries and the Rosacea Treatment Clinic's review of Nd:YAG Laser in the Treatment of Broken Capillaries.

The Rosacea Treatment Clinic offers prevention and treatment of broken capillaries, couperose and telangiectasis using gentle rosacea treatments that provide safe, incremental improvement over many months.

Gernetic provides an exceptional treatment for broken capillaries, able to be used both on the legs and face. The treatment comprises the use of "Veinulo" spray and "Vasco" used in that order. The Gernetic Skin Care PDF highlights the areas in which Vasco and Veinulo Special are of use.

These are currently the only serious topical means by which to reduce broken capillaries. The only other acceptable treatment is laser or surgical removal.
