Insert Current Date Service

Insert Current Date is a Services menu item which lets you insert the current date in any of five formats:

  • Full Date: Sunday, 15 January 2012
  • Long Date: 15 January 2012
  • Medium Date: 15/01/2012
  • Short Date: 15/01/12
  • Universal Date: 20120115

Insert Current Date will honour your system preferences for the format of the date. I'm in Australia where we write dates as Day, Month, Year. If you're in the U.S.A. you'd get Month, Day, Year. Universal Date format is always the same no matter what your local format is:yyyymmdd (year, month, day).

Requires Mac OS X 10.4 or later.

Download Insert Current Date service here. Move it to your Libary/Services folder and it will appear in your services menu the next time you log in to your account.
