Zulu Magician "Zulu"

19/10/1997 We are very saddened to report that our
lovely boy Zulu passed away on 20 April, 2012, at 14 and a half years of age.
For a brief tribute, visit Zulu's Vale. In
1997 we decided to have our first litter, and bred Shadow to Aust Ch Zellik Notorious Flyer AD, "Harley", who was
imported from the UK. We had five lovely puppies, two boys - Zulu
and Mali, and three girls - Peppercorn, Bumble-Bee and Pixie. Mali, Bumble Bee and Pixie all went to
loving homes while Peppy and Zulu stayed with us. Zulu was extremely successful in the Show
ring, becoming an Australian Champion in 1999, and being awarded many Best/
Runner-up Best in Working Dog Groups and multiple Class in Working Dog Group
awards. Some of his awards are listed
below. Nearing the age of 10, he retired from the ring in 2007, with 729
Challenge Points, enough to make him an Australian Champion seven times
over. He is pictured above with his
beloved dad about to enter the Show Ring to win Best Australian Bred Dog in the Working Dog Group at the Bega Valley
Kennel and Obedience Club Show on his dad's birthday in February 2006. He is

January 2012, Zulu came with us down to Bungendore, NSW for a 3 day show
weekend where each day they were offering a Veterans Sweepstakes competition
for dogs over 10 years of age. On the first day, 27 January, 2012, Zulu won
the 3rd place ribbon. On the second day, he won the 2nd
place ribbon, and on the third day he won the 1st place ribbon.
Quite an accomplishment for a dog of over 14 years who had not been in the
ring since 2007! Zulu was the only dog out of 600+ entered in these shows who
was born in the 1900’s! We were so proud of our sweet old boy! Some pictures
