Paco Achieves his Australian Grand Championship Title!

By winning Best of Breed at the St George and District Kennel Club show on 31 May, 2008, Paco achieved the 1,000 Challenge Points need to qualify for the award of Australian Grand Champion! It has been a long road for our boy who was already 5 years old when he arrived in Australia as an English Champion. Very big congratulations are due to our lovely Boy!!!

Paco in the Snow Mountains

Bemboka is a small village on the Snowy Mountains Highway, and on 9-11 November 2007 was the site for the Far South East Kennel Club's weekend of shows. Paco's Best of Breed win on 10 November saw him pass a total of 800 challenge points, and at the same show he was awarded a "Best Veteran in Show" sash. The following day he won Best Open Dog in the Working Dog Group. Well done for a dog just 3 weeks shy of his 10th Birthday

Paco at the Belgian Shepherd Dog Club of NSW Specialty Show

On 5 August, 2007 Paco competed at the Belgian Shepherd Dog Club of NSW Specialty Show held in Picton, NSW under the famous Belgian Judge Firmin Aertgeerts. Paco and Lesley are shown in the ring below. Paco went on to win Reserve Challenge Dog against a strong field of 11 younger entries. The "critique" given by Firmin is reproduced below:

"Almost 10yrs old, complete scissor bite, good constructed tall male. Good parallelism and stop, dark eyes and almond, nice ears could be higher set. Excellent pigmentation and mask, nice sweep of neck and good strong back, sloping croup. Excellent angulations, good bone structure, excellent developed chest, excellent coat, warm and excellent charbonne, and very good stance and temperament. Could be a little more compact. Very good movement. Grade: Excellent"

Paco wins Best of Breed Tervueren at the 2007 Sydney Royal Show!

We are delighted to announce that Paco won Best of Breed Belgian Shepherd Tervueren at the Sydney Royal Easter Show on Sunday 15 April, 2007, under an international judge. Paco, at 9 years of age, won the Veterans Class and went on to beat all the younger dogs to take the BOB prize! Three photos of Paco and Lesley taken at the Royal Show by the Official Photographer are included below, followed by another recent photo taken by another professional photographer when Paco attracted her attention at the Erskine Park Dog Showground in March 2007.

We imported our magnificent Paco, (Eng & Aust Grand Champion Corsini Lysander) from the UK in late 2002. We remain extremely grateful to Amanda McLaren of Corsini, and Audrey Maguire of Suerike, for enabling us to bring over this wonderful boy. Paco had a very successful show career in the UK having been awarded numerous CC's and BOB's at many UK Shows and achieving his English Championship Title. He has continued to excel in the Show Ring here in Australia having achieved his Australian Championship Title in minimal time, and consistently being awarded many CC's, BOB's and Class in Group Awards.

Paco is descended from a very distinguished lineage with both his father (Eng Ch Magnum de la Clairiere aux Louves) and his sister (Eng Ch Corsini L'Air du Temps) winning Best In Show at the world renowned and highly prestigious French Belgian Shepherd Speciality Show in 2000 and 2002.

Paco is well-known throughout Australia and the UK for his magnificent looks and his affectionate and fun-loving personality. He adores his Stud duties (!!) and many of his progeny here in Australia, have done extremely well in the Show Ring with many Class in Speciality Show Awards. This has resulted in Paco winning the title of Best Sire in Show at many recent Belgian Shepherd Speciality Shows . His daughter Zoe (Ch GraeShadow Camomile) won Best of Breed at the distinguished Sydney Royal Show in April, 2006 , with Paco winning the Dog CC and Runner up Best of Breed, so a very successful day with a father-daughter win under the Finish Judge Mr J. Juslin. As mentioned above, Paco followed this up at the 2007 Sydney Royal Show by winning Best of Breed himself!
