Paco! Lots of pets and cuddles to our Paco,
who turned 10 today. 16 - 18 November 2007 - Championships achieved, and a new "Personal Best" for
Moonshadow Belgian Shepherds Moonshadow went to Newcastle on the weekend of 16-18 November
for three shows. Magic won Best Junior in the Working Dog Group on the
Friday, and by winning BOB each day, he and his sister Avalon both achieved
the required number of Challenge Points to qualify for the title of
Australian Champion. The rules for
this award now require not only a total of at least 100 Challenge Points, but
at least 25 of these points must be earned while over the age of 1 year. We
were very pleased that both Avalon and Magic achieved this within three weeks
of their first birthdays! Big

page And finally, with Magic, Avalon and
Paco winning that weekend, Moonshadow Belgian Shepherds surpassed their 2005
record of 530 Challenge Points won in a year. Good work Zulu, Paco, Magic and
Avalon! 9 - 11 November 2007 - Paco's Weekend Bemboka is a small village on the Snowy Mountains Highway, and
on 9-11 November 2007 was the site for the Far South East Kennel Club's
weekend of shows. Our Paco had a very
good weekend. His Best of Breed win on 10 November saw him pass a total of
800 challenge points, and at the same show he was awarded a "Best
Veteran in Show" sash. The following day he won Best Open Dog in the
Working Dog Group. Well done for a dog just 3 weeks shy of his 10th Birthday! 31 October 2007 - Happy First
Birthdays! We wish all of our Halloween 2006
puppies the Happiest of Birthdays.

19 October 2007 - Happy 10th
Birthdays! Happy10th Birthday wishes to our first
litter - Zulu, Mali, Peppy, sadly-missed Peggy, and Pixie. Shown below left Mother Shadow reaches
for the Birthday cake while son Zulu waits patiently; on the right daughter Peppy shares her
cake with her constant companion Baxter.
19 October 2007 - Avalon wins Best
Junior in Group We were very pleased when our little
girl won her second Best Junior in group at the Tuggerah
Lakes K&O Club show. 28 September 2007 - Magic wins again Magic does it again! Under Ms Beth
Warman, a New Zealand judge, Magic again won first place in the 6-12 month old sweepstakes
event at the 2007 Pedigree Canberra Canine Carnival 17 September 2007 - Bayer Breeder Programme Moonshadow Belgian Shepherds joins the
Bayer Breeder Champions Programme!

Kennels in the UK, breeders of Rhianne, visit us. 9 September 2007 - Birthday Happy 3rd Birthday to Rhianne! 11-15 August 2007 - A Magic weekend It
was a very good long weekend of showing for our little boy Magic, who was 9
1/2 months old. At the four Tullamore
shows, Magic won first place in the 6-12 Months Sweepstakes four times in a
row! He followed this up the fifth day at Trundle with a third place. In the
Working Dog Group competitions at the same shows, Magic won Best Puppy in
Group three out of five times, and on one of those times was awarded the
Runner up Best Exhibit in Group prize. Quite an accomplishment for our
"baby boy"! Sister Avalon also played her part, winning Best Junior
in the Working Dog Group on one of these days. Big congratulations to our
young ones! Shown below are at the
left, Magic wins the first of 4 consecutive first places in 6-12 Months Sweepstakes on 11 August at
Tullamore, and at the right, Magic winning his third Best Puppy in the
Working Dog Group on 15 August at Trundle.
13 and 14 August 2007 - Birthdays Happy 13th Birthday on 13 August to
Shadow, and Happy 12th Birthday on 14 August to Baxter! August/September 2007 -
"Highlife" Magazine We
were happy to be interviewed recently about Belgian Shepherds by Judith
O'Connell, a regular Feature Writer on Dog Breeds for the Highlife Magazine.
Her article on Belgians along with photos of our Paco and his son Magic
appears on page 161 of the August/September 2007 Issue. Hopefully it will
help win a few more converts to this beautiful breed. 5 August 2007 - Belgian Shepherd
Specialty Show Paco is having a good year, running up to his 10th Birthday in December 2007. On 5 August, 2007 he competed at the Belgian Shepherd Dog Club of NSW Specialty Show held in Picton, NSW under the famous Belgian Judge Firmin Aertgeerts. Paco and Lesley are shown in the ring below. Paco went on to win Reserve Challenge Dog against a strong field of 11 younger entries. The "critique" given by Firmin is reproduced below: "Almost 10yrs old, complete scissor
bite, good constructed tall male. Good
parallelism and stop, dark eyes and almond, nice ears could be higher
set. Excellent pigmentation and mask,
nice sweep of neck and good strong back, sloping croup. Excellent angulations, good bone structure,
excellent developed chest, excellent coat, warm and excellent charbonne, and
very good stance and temperament.
Could be a little more compact.
Very good movement. Grade: Excellent"
9-10 June 2007 - Parkes Shows Magic enjoyed his weekend at the
Parkes shows, winning Best Minor Puppy in Group on both days. He also won 3rd place in the 6-12 months Sweepstakes on the
first day and 1st place on the second day! Father Paco picked up a 2nd place
in the Veteran's Sweepstakes and both Magic and sister Avalon gained their
first Challenge points. See "Show

Avalon. 15 April 2007 - Royal Easter Show We
are delighted to announce that our Paco this year won Best of Breed Belgian
Shepherd Tervueren at the Sydney Royal Easter Show on Sunday 15 April, 2007.
Paco, at 9 years of age, was in the Veterans Class and he went on to beat all
the younger dogs to take the prize! Photos of Paco and Lesley taken at the
Royal Show by the Official Photographer can be seen on Paco's Page! 17& 19 March 2007 - Magic at
Canberra Our Halloween born Magic wins his
first Best Baby Puppy in the Working Dog Group on St Patrick's Day at the ACTCA Canberra Autumn International Festival.
Mrs Honey Glendinning, the Canadian judge, praised both Magic and Avalon, but
decided it was his on the day. When we returned on 19 March, Magic again won Best Baby Puppy in the Working Dog Group, this time
under Ms Cheryl Egerton, another Canadian judge. We were very proud of our

Sapphire Coast First dog shows for our puppies Magic
and Avalon at Bermagui and the Sapphire Coast. At the 18 February show, by
winning Best of Breed, Zulu surpassed 700 Challenge points. Congratulations Zulu!
