Pachelbel Wines

We are a small vineyard situated in Torbay part of the Albany region of the Great Southern wine appellation

Established in 2001,  a five acre vineyard was planted with Shiraz and Merlot grapes, Subsequent plantings have included Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. All work on the vineyard has been done by the owners, family and friends and we owe a debt of gratitude to all these "volunteer" workers.

The vineyard is located in between Albany and Demark, approximately 15kms from the cool breezes of the Southern Ocean. It has a high location on the Redmond Ridge and is subject to weather conditions that can be extreme. It's low yielding vines are destined to produce great wines having overcome some initial and ongoing setbacks, including emus, kangaroos, parrots and crows. ( amongst others )

Due to a fire in February 2009, the vineyard was severely damaged and is in the slow process of being replanted and  repaired.

Our wines are made under contract by Alon and Jodi Arbel at Bella Ridge Estate in the Swan Valley. They have tolerated us and shown that great wines can be developed from the Great Southern. We owe them heaps !!
