NEW MEMBERS TAKE OUR
NUMBERS TO THE EIGHTIES
Since we last published a list of new members, several more have joined us, to take our current membership to 87 - an early three times the 30 who enrolled at our foundation meeting in October, 1993.
Among the new names are those of six from the United States, of whom were have already introduced Genny Gebhardt, from Seattle, Dr Kathleen Kemmerer of Pennsylvania State University, and Mary Anne Robinson, from Southern California.
Now, thanks to our Internet Home Page, we have recruited three more from the United States - James Repucci, of Youngstown, Ohio; Jack Lynch, of the University of Pennsylvania, who also operates the Samuel Johnson Page on the Internet, and Greg Brown, from Petaluma, California.
From New Zealand have come Dr John Thomson, from Wellington, whom readers will remember as the presenter of the delightul paper and demonstration on 18th Century music at the 1996 seminar, Mary Beaven, also from Wellington, and Michael Walsh, from Diamond Harbor in Canterbury.
Bookseller Norman Godsmark, from Scarborough in Yorkshire is our only U.K. member - except, of course, for our Patron, Viscountess Eccles.
Closer to home, recent new members have been Dr H.G.P. Colebatch, from Perth and Dr Alan Dilnot, from the English Department at Monash University, and Roy Lanigan, of Noble Park, Vic.
We have also gained our second member from Japan, Professor Daisuke Nagashima, who had been in correspondence with us for some time before joining us last year. Mr Yafumi Kamaze joined the JSA from Japan in 1995.
To all our new members we extend a hearty welcome.
