Australian Federation 

1901 - 2001

On 1 January, 1901, in Centennial Park in Sydney, a great and solemn ceremony took place. In that moment, Australia's six colonies were joined together in one 'indissoluble federal Commonwealth'.  But Federation did not happen overnight. It was the
result of years of discussion, hard work and determination.
