The Joy of Steam
There is no logical reason why I love steam locomotives and railways, it can only be a perversion. If you don't understand the uncompromised adoration that is automatically inspired in a human by the smell of coal smoke, steam and lubricating oil, you'd best cut your losses and go surf the Spice Girls page or something.
This part of my site is dedicated to steam locomotives and railways that I love and respect. This will include some of my modelling attempts when I get around to building that part of the site. Meanwhile, let's start with my favourite railway, the now extinct (but slowly resurrecting) Moe-Walhalla line in Victoria.
I'll be adding more in the future, so bookmark this site and come back!

Favourite lines
My favourite lines are the Victorian Narrow Gauge lines which includes the Moe-Walhalla Railway. Another Vic Narrow Gauge line that is a must see for any visitor to Melbourne (why else would you go there?) is Puffing Billy where the little narrow gauge locos still puff their way through the mountains. More remote but also worth a visit is the Walhalla Goldfields Railway where part of the original Moe-Walhalla line is being brought back to life.
The Lynton and Barnstaple Railway in Devon, England is also a favourite of mine and one I'm currently modelling.
Useful Modelling links
The 009 Society provide all kinds of support for the narrow gauge model railway enthusiast. It is an English group so most of their interest is in British lines. For the Australian model railway enthusiast, you can't go past the Australian Model Railway Magazine from the Southern Cross Model Railways Society and the Australian Journal of Railway Modelling.
