| Tangara (from the Aboriginal word 'to go') is the latest and most modern electric train on the Sydney system. Introduced in 1988, the Tangara was the catalyst to the removal of all the remaining single deck stock, the Sydney system becoming the first in the world to comprise all double-deck rolling stock. |
| Introduced with the then corporate red and orange striping on the lower body, the cars now wear the newer 'CityRail' blue and yellow stripes. The overall grey body panelling remains unchanged. |
HO Scale Ready-To-Run models of the Tangara have been released by Auscision Models in April 2021 |
