Welcome to the page of Catsien. Whenever I play multiplayer games, I call myself Catsien. I have strengths and weaknesses. I usually work with two others, Skyhawk and Sickdog (formerly known as Meathead). We might name out team Chlorine Gas, but that's only my idea.
The three of us make a fierce and competitive team. Now if only we could focus this fierceness and competetiveness away from each other and onto the competition...
We have great LAN games, when we get the chance to connect all three PCs together. Only Sickdog and myself have modems, and even if we all three did have modems, out here the internet costs more because we live in the country. Nevertheless, sometimes we do find external competition.
I am the best at Descent and Descent II out of us three. I kick Skyhawk and Sickdog's butt whenever I play them (which could explain why Sickdog always wants to play Coop games via modem, and not flag...). The only way I get a real challenge is when both Sickdog and Skyhawk team up against me in a flag game. It isn't very easy to win this way (I haven't won yet) but it is a challenge and is really fun!
I don't exactly know Skyhawk's preference of game at the moment. He hasn't had much practice lately. He does like a good game of Enemy Nations, though.
Sickdog likes Quake, DOOM, and 3D games that are on the ground, but isn't too bad at Descent and Descent II either. In Terminal Velocity, he doesn't do very well as I have found out is major weakness!!!! (and I won't tell him what it is no matter how much he begs me - you see, he doesn't know what it is...)
Some time ago, Catsien met his match in the form of Shit Kicka.
It started out as a nice quiet Duke3D level day. Catsien was picking up weapons,
powerups, and observing the scenery when out of nowhere came Shit Kicka.
Catsien pulled out his RPG and started firing wildly, while Shit Kicka dodged them
with rediculous ease. Catsien started breathing heavily. He had never met competition
like this before. He wasn't at home in his Pyro-GX (that's the Descent ship for those of
you who don't know - Catsien prefers Descent to all other games), but out in the open. Maybe
a change of weapon would help. Catsien pulled out his shrink-ray and started letting
Shit-Kicka have it. No good, he just dodged the shots. Catsien started running, not knowing
what to do next. A rocket just flew past! "Damn, Shit Kicka wants blood and he wants it fast!"
thought Catsien. He looked around wildly and let his devastator loose. One or two stinger
missiles hit Shit-Kicka! "Yeah!" shouted that Catsien. Unfortunately, Shit-Kicka fired his
shrink-ray and Catsien was hit! Catsien was tiny and helpless, and desperatley hoping that
the effect of the shrink-ray would wear off in time before Shit-Kicka found him. No such luck.
"Look what your pathetic missile did to my pants!" shouted Shit-Kicka angrily. "Well, I suppose
it would be cruel if I squashed you shrunken body all over the floor."
"Yes, it would be, definitely" agreed Catsien.
"Yes" said Shit-Kicka. He then lifted his foot and stomped all over Catsien. Everything
went dark and with a scream of pain, Catsien was splattered. "Definitely cruel" said Shit-Kicka.
Multiply this by 50 and you'll get an idea of the game I had.
At least I admit to defeats. I admit Shit-Kicka is a way better player than me in Duke3D. I think it's time for a rematch, on Catsien's home ground - Descent II!
Holidays are coming up, and I'll be looking forward to some more LAN games with Skyhawk and Sickdog. Apart from that, I'll have to be happy with a few modem games here and there with Sickdog playing Cooperatively all the time...
If one day the internet rates get a bit cheaper up in my area, I might be able to start a bit of internet gaming! $7 per hour is a bit steep at the moment, but I've got no choice if I want to avoid the massive STD charges.
