White Cedar - Melia azederach var australasica     

This is a large spreading deciduous tree, which flowers in spring with flowers of a lilac appearance. Fruits turn yellow on ripening in autumn. Precession caterpillars can defoliate trees within a few days.

The fruit are eaten by birds, some of whom break the fruiting stems, perhaps to hasten ripening.
