Australian Plants

Australian Herbs, Spices from the Vic Cherikoff and Dining Downunder Online Store

This site features photographs and brief descriptions of Australian plants, either native to South East Queensland, or successfully grown in South East Queensland.

These include plants from tropical and subtropical rainforests, wallum areas, woodland, beach, and swampy areas. Small and medium shrubs, groundcovers, palms, trees, and vines are represented.

Some of these plants are edible or have medicinal uses. See my Bushtucker site for more information on Australian plants which have culinary uses (bushfood).

Sorry, but this site does not include exotic plants!

Generally I have decided not to include cultivated varieties (cultivars) of Australian native plants, but some of these can be found in the links I have provided.
