Welcome to our Pendoylan web site. We are David and Pat Halliday and
our "Pendoylan" is in a small town in New South Wales, Australia, midway between
Sydney and Brisbane, 2500 feet up on the tablelands behind the coast. The original Pendoylan is a village in "old" South Wales, Glamorgan to be precise - and it has close family connections with us. This is a new site and will grow with information on our lifestyle and the district in which we live. There will be a number of topics - but we have started with two :- If you are into Genealogy, then see if you are connected to our families. - David's branch of the Halliday line comes from Gloucestershire, dating back from the mid 1800s to the end of the 16thC and perhaps further than that. The other main related lines are Field, Gildersleeve and Davis - and a Great grandparent line - Ivey. - Pat is a Faulkner, whose line comes from Sussex, dating back from the mid 1800s to the 17thC and perhaps further than that. The other main related lines are Rees, Bassett and Quilley. We also get out and about with our caravan and we share our opinions of the Australian van parks we have visited and some of the hints and tips we have learnt to make caravanning easier. So - if you want to contact us on any of our lifestyle or genealogy topics - we'd like to hear from you. We have just added a page in our Wildlife Section and shall be adding pages on Gardening and Travel. |
