is a shortcut we have found to be most effective...
(Print this page and refer to it as you go)
Click Here to
go to the "Search Options" page.
Click on the "Detailed Search" link.
That takes you to a page where you just make up a Username and
Password.
Fill out the rest of the information, then click Continue
Next page or so will usually ask for your State and City information
(depending on what Country you are from).
After all that you finally get to a detailed search screen.
Here you can choose all sorts of qualities and criteria.
Select what Country or Countries you want to see matches from.
Choose what Hair and eye colour you want your match to have.
(If not fussy about that check off everything!)
The next set of criteria is called "Body Type", ONLY check the
"Disabled" box; NO OTHER body type should be selected or you
will
get non-disabled matches as well.
Answer the other stuff about languages, occupation and whatever
according to your own preferences. (In each of these, the MORE you
select, the greater the number of your possible matches, although you
should EXCLUDE any characteristic that you definitely would not want
a match to have.)
Click GO when finished and lo and behold you get a screen full of
matches!
Click on any Photo or Headline to view a Profile and you will find an
impressive amount of detail about that person.
Click the "Expand" link
(The Expand link is just below and to the right of a panel that tells
"How he/she describes Him or herself")
and you will see exactly who he/she is seeking in a section called
"About his/her matches". In particular check "Body
Type" to see if they
want disabled or non-disabled replies.
When finished click on "Return to search results"
Now, here is an even more POWERFULL
way to get matches:
Post your own Profile and a unique two-way matching system kicks in
and really REFINES your potential matches.
The two-way matching system is simply brilliant and it works by
locating all of the members that match what you are looking for AND
then narrows down that list to those members who are themselves
looking for people with a profile like yours.
No need for you to physically check if that person is or isn't open to
someone with a disability - if you create your profile carefully then the
matching system will take care of all that.
Which means no time wasted browsing profiles of people who probably
would not be interested in you.
To create a profile, look for 4 coloured circles at the top of the page,
"create profile" is the 2nd circle from the right.
There is not a lot of typing required as it's mostly just checking off the
boxes that best describe you.
I do recommend that you do Step 3, many people skip it, but completing
it does improve the quality of your matches quite a lot.
Well there you have it!
We like the accuracy of the matches and the great amount of detail
given.
We feel that the way members can exclude certain body types by
not checking those boxes could be seen as discriminatory and might
cause offence, but we understand that it needs to be done that way
so that their two-way matching process can work properly.
And the two way matching is brilliant, so it's probably worth putting up
with a couple of hassles!
Anyway, the whole procedure probably looks worse on paper than it is
in practice and hopefully this simplified step-by-step guide will make it
easy and effective for you!
