The Internet is an interesting place with many fascinating folks. Some of you know how to write a great personal ad. Others need help.

We recently received an e-mail from a gentleman in Dallas Texas who shared this telling story. He said that he wrote a personal ad but he was disappointed that he had only received a few replies. He shared his dilemma with some female friends at the office who immediately took up his cause. This group of three females rewrote the gentleman's ad to make it more descriptive, alluring and better suited to his audience (women of his own age). After the new personal ad was posted, the number of replies tripled!

With this story in mind, we have set out to compile some of the best ads. Go ahead and plagiarize, rewrite and edit.

Hi everyone! I am a 25 year old swm here. I am not sure if I am looking for the love of my life here or not and I am admittedly a little skeptical of these types of sites myself. I just know that regardless of what anyone is looking for, you have to be friends first and get to know one another so there is no unrealistic expectations placed on the relationship. I'm not at all into head games and I have learned that upfront honesty is the key to anything, but especially in establishing friendships and love that will endure the test of time.

First, let me say that I'm legally blind. That's pretty much it as far as disabilities go for me. I am searching for disabled or non-disabled females to correspond with first by e-mail, phone, or whatever form makes you comfortable. I am certainly not Mel Gibson or Brad Pitt. My mind is better than my body and I certainly would want someone who would love a mind more than a body anyway. That's why I don't expect any female I correspond with to be comparable to Pam Anderson (who I don't really think is attractive anyway). I am flexible on age as well as I have a range that extends from 23 to 35 in preference. I have a respectable career that I am content with at the moment although I may perhaps want to further my education and get my masters at some point.

I like sports, outdoors attivities like camping, tv shows that are on nick at nite, some 70s and 80s music, and what I would love to do is travel much more than I do. I would love to go to places I've been and experience that with a special person. Does this sound interesting enough? "I have cabinfever..."

Hi there, I live alone in a log home that was built in 1744. It use to be a Stagecoach Stop! So, I am use to simple ways and easy going ways. I feed the deer and other critters on my property and enjoy watching the seasons change up at a nearby lake. I use to be somewhat active but to be honest I have some limitations since I recently had an operation on my knee and that has me restricted for awhile. And that should get better with time...I love all types of music except rap and heavy metal. I love Harleys and going for a ride is a great way to blow out the dust in my mind... I don't smoke cigs. and I enjoy a nice glass of wine once in awhile. I have no kids.. just birds and a dog. I am do freelance writing, love to travel, photography and computer design are my hobbies. Well, not exactly poor, and, not exactly a boy either. Spot my handicap!

Well, I lost an eye as a child, that is how far it goes - it hasn't stopped me becoming successful and happy in life!

I am a single mom and just beginning to realize how much I miss love and warmth from a real man.

Do you know what I crave? A good cuddle while the kids are at school, waking up next to each other, enjoying time both alone and with the children, being adventurous in more ways than one -if all this rings a bell, YOU might be the special man I am looking for!

I can honestly describe myself as very pretty, as I am a buxom brunette with large amber eyes and luscious full lips.
