The design is described as a hybrid air vehicle. Although filled with helium it is heavier than air, and remains fairly firmly on the ground until it moves forward and acting as a flying wing, generates aerodynamic lift. Sixty percent of its lift is from helium, 40 percent from aerodynamic forces. The hull is much wider than high, approaching the shape of a primitive wing.

Note the inflatable dangling skirt which acts as an undercarriage.
