Hi, my name is Peter Andrews
and welcome to the Outimage web site.
The name Outimage is basically
a reduction of an early registered business name, Outstanding
Images. Up to now, all content associated with Outimage has been
produced by myself.
As a published independent
photojournalist, this site is a reference point for some of my
work. Currently based in the Illawarra region on the New South
Wales south coast of Australia, more recent work seeks to capture
some of the natural wonders of this area. Another large portion
of my work revolves around sailing, from ocean yacht racing to
tall ships.
Academic qualifications
include an arts degree with both communications and sociology
majors with options to continue with honours. I also have only
a couple of subjects to complete to achieve post graduate qualifications
in marketing.
There are a few reasons
behind the existence of this site. Personally, it has been an
photo-journalistic and design challenge in electronic publishing
that commenced in February 2001. The content all based around
various genres of interest. The challenge comes with the amount
of graphics, as the total number has been limited by server limit
of only 5 meg up until now (The entire site now spans two servers
from two ISP's providing a total availability of 10 meg server
space).
For clients, the site exists
for anyone who may have an interest in any of the various topics
my work covers. |

In photography, I have
worked as a semi professional photographer for well over ten
years, successfully avoiding weddings, babies and real estate.
Most of my work is outdoor, using only natural light. During
my early years as a photographer, some basic studio work was
carried out. However, artificial light is something that has
never been of any real interest.

It has always been far
more challenging for me to capture a great image with available
light.

During the late 1980s and
early 90s, push processing of colour slide and black and white
negative film for shots under very low lighting conditions, only
further propelled me away from studio light. Subjects consisted
of rock bands and artists, including Midnight Oil and the late
great Stevie Ray Vaughan.

Most of my current
shots are captured with a high-end Nikon digital SLR, but high
quality colour slide is also used for those special moments or
when required by a client. Commercial standard 35mm and historical
photographic stock has been continuously gathered since 1982.
A recent estimate of my colour photographic transparency stock
is somewhere around the 220,000 figure. Stock also exists in
colour negative, but the quantity of this is unknown. A small
portion of black and white negative stock, also exists. Much
of this stock has been gathered from all around Australia, but
a large quantity has also been taken in parts of Europe, the
United States, Canada, Asia, New Zealand and various locations
around the South Pacific. |

All content found anywhere
on this site (except for some external link icons) including
text, photographs, icons, overall design and topic research,
has been conducted and entirely produced by myself and protected
by international copyright. The content covers a wide spectrum,
so hopefully there is something there for all to enjoy.
Perhaps one of the most
beautiful buildings in the world, the Chrysler building. This
shot was taken from that other famous building in New York City,
the Empire State, in July 1992. The upper East River and Long
Island Sound are seen in the background.

or other content, any feedback good or bad, will be appreciated.

the copyright notices found all over the site. Low tide at Clairview, Central Queensland,
