In 1997, we decided to get away from the rat race of Sydney and find somewhere quiet to live. We visited to Cooma, just looking about, and were shown The Round House on the south east side of Cooma, overlooking the town. It was something we could not refuse. The house was built about 1968, is double brick throughout, and has a large central oval room with a 12 ft wide glass dome. It is set on 3,000sq.m of established garden, and was built to take an atomic blast. Since moving, we have both retired, and now I concentrate on lacemaking, and Bill on woodturning. Son John and daughter-in-law Colleen also got out the rat race of Sydney, but only as far as Canberra, and are frequent visitors.

With a long haired ginger little miss of a cat called Honey to keep us company, lots of friendly people, engrossing hobbies, and good services in the town, who could ask for more!
