Nursery &
Garden Industry NSW Limited
Attention NSW Production Nurseries
To increase production efficiency
.
.you need a continuation of research projects and workshops
for the NSW nursery industry but
..
from 2001 the Horticultural Stock and Nurseries Act will cease
to operate; funds collected from licence fees and used for the benefit of the nursery
industry on research and workshops will dry up.
Replacement Act
The Agricultural Industry Services Act is already in
place but can only be "activated" for the nursery industry when it can be shown
that to do so has industry support.
A committee, to be called the Nursery Industry Services
Committee, must be set up to administer the funds collected; and distribute funds for
research and other work to help the industry.
The new committee will act for all the industry growers, and be
independent of Nursery & Garden Industry of NSW. All nursery owners who register to
vote will be able to participate in planning and electing more than half the committee.
Two choices
You have two choices one is to
confirm your interest in continuing research and workshops for the NSW nursery industry; the
other is to ignore this issue and let your support for your
industry die.
Sometime in the next few months NIAN will be asking you
to join the co-operative effort to support these valuable projects.
Please take action to be a part of the new system and encourage others to do the same.
This flyer has been produced as a service to the nursery industry by
the Nursery & Garden Industry New South Wales.
