My Highest earning factory at 50Hrs Posted By: Brendan Date: 16 Dec 2000, 17:32 The best investment I've made to date is the sunrise flower factory in Argon Space CBSW. It dosent make that much money in its own right but attracts a constant stream of pirate frieghters into the kill/capture zone. An asset stripped freighter is worth about 440K with shields, lasers + scrap value. Thats 5 intact ships this morning = 2.2M cr (approx) Re: My Highest earning factory at 50Hrs Posted By: Randy Dave Date: 16 Dec 2000, 17:37 In Response To: My Highest earning factory at 50Hrs (Brendan) Thx, m8 you just gave me an idea. Make a factory of whatever the split like but don't produce in the sector above Seizewell then when a split freighter comes out I captuer it. Also there is a very near ship yard. ;o) DAVE Re: My Highest earning factory at 50Hrs Posted By: Steel Date: 16 Dec 2000, 18:04 In Response To: Re: My Highest earning factory at 50Hrs (Randy Dave) > Thx, m8 you just gave me an idea. > Make a factory of whatever the split like but don't > produce in the sector above Seizewell then when a > split freighter comes out I captuer it. > Also there is a very near ship yard. > ;o) > DAVE You don't CAPTURE it!!!! I was always tempted to join in this particualr pastime but the thought of not being able to get 25MW shields when I wanted was always a hurdle:( Don Re: Fair enough Posted By: Randy Dave Date: 16 Dec 2000, 18:42 In Response To: Re: Fair enough (Don) There is a 25MW sheild fact in argon space and you can buy 3 classes of ships(s.m.l) in the new patch and the L class M3's and Ts's come with 25mw sheilds. ;o) DAVE Re: Fair enough Posted By: madscot Date: 16 Dec 2000, 20:34 In Response To: Re: Fair enough (Randy Dave) how much for a top class m3 all mod cons + 2 dice and a nodding dog Re: Fair enough Posted By: CC chris f Date: 16 Dec 2000, 20:35 In Response To: Re: Fair enough (madscot) > how much for a top class m3 all mod cons + 2 dice and > a nodding dog wht you got to spend ? ;-) Re: Fair enough Posted By: Steel Date: 16 Dec 2000, 20:43 In Response To: Re: Fair enough (madscot) > how much for a top class m3 all mod cons + 2 dice and > a nodding dog about 2.2 MILLION credits in V2. I didn't know about the 25MW factory in Argon space though (obviously need to wipe the lenses on my video enhancement goggles :). But that answers my question about getting shields. The reason I asked is because as you know, the Lux ships are not always available (quite infrequently actually). And when this is the case you will obviously have to buy the shields elsewhere. Thanks for the info though m8 Don Nav Sats Posted By: Brendan Date: 16 Dec 2000, 17:37 What can you do to protect these, or at least prevent them from constantly getting blown up? I've tried placing the 50-60km beyond the gate but they still go. I've tried (in Sizewell) placing one in the gaps of the shipyard, really close (and I mean really close)to the walls of the station but it got destroyed too. Can you set laser towers to protect these???? If not what can you do......Ideas/solutions please Re: Nav Sats Posted By: Moss Date: 16 Dec 2000, 17:45 In Response To: Nav Sats (Brendan) > What can you do to protect these, or at least prevent > them from constantly getting blown up? > I've tried placing the 50-60km beyond the gate but > they still go. > I've tried (in Sizewell) placing one in the gaps of > the shipyard, really close (and I mean really close)to > the walls of the station but it got destroyed too. > Can you set laser towers to protect these???? > If not what can you do......Ideas/solutions please Try puting one near to one of your own well defened factories with laser towers, if you got them, I think pirates tend to veiw them with a lower priority then . In the new patch I think you will be able to set laser towers to guard them. So placing them near stations is a waste of time. The pirates can still get at them when you r not around 'cos the AI in sectors is *easier* when your not in it. i.e. they fly through the facts! In V2, they stay put and you can now assign laser towers to guard them. You can also put laser towers by the gates and set them to "Pirates are enemy". This way they will *toast* any that come into the sector via that gate. HTH ;) Steel Re: Nav Sats Posted By: Erazor Date: 16 Dec 2000, 18:11 In Response To: Re: Nav Sats (Steel) Steel... can the Lasertowers be set to Xenon are enemy too or is it only the pirates... if they can be set to anything i've a wicked idea for split space!! Erazor Re: Nav Sats Posted By: Randy Dave Date: 16 Dec 2000, 18:14 In Response To: Re: Nav Sats (Erazor) I know what your thinking, and yes you can. I have already tried it with 50 in the split sector with the ship yard. ;o) 10 surrounding each gate, 20 spread aut among the major stations, and a cargobay full of hornets. It was an awful lot of fun. ;) DAVE Dave you git...Re: Nav Sats Posted By: Erazor Date: 16 Dec 2000, 18:16 In Response To: Re: Nav Sats (Randy Dave) How come you have all the fun... i've been waiting all bloody day for V2 and its still not here...(knew i should have been a developer)!!! ANY race can be set. They kill on sight, no messing. You easily *shut down* a sector doing this. ;))) The Split idea works!!!!! Just *bolt down* the three escape routes for the Split and they cannot buy the goods they need as they cannot get out of their own sectors. I played around with it a bit and it seemed to work, but I haven't done it properley yet. I just did one gate. Split died every time they came through it. It's COOL!!!! You can set your WHOLE fleet to attack on sight. :))))) Then send them on a little journey....... YA GONNA LOVE V2!!! ;) Steel Re: Nav Sats Posted By: Erazor Date: 16 Dec 2000, 18:20 In Response To: Re: Nav Sats (Steel) Oh there is a god out there... :o) Oh how i'm going to watch those Split getting turned into Crispy Critter..... die split die... eat beam laser!
