TL trading Posted By: Martin aka The Devil Date: 17 Jan 2001, 22:57 How do you trade in these behemoths. I`ve got 21 mil cr to spend and having just attempted a trail run, learnt that trading in these isn`t easy. I had bought 2 paranid ganyemedes and an Hercules just for fun. But i now ned guidance from the council on how to proceed. }:> Re: TL trading Posted By: Paul Knibbs Date: 18 Jan 2001, 08:26 In Response To: TL trading (Martin aka The Devil) > How do you trade in these behemoths. Use the freighters to buy goods at local stations and load them aboard the TL--you can then sell these as soon as you encounter a sector where the selling price is good. Since the cargo capacity of a TL is so great you can comfortably wander around with millions of credits' worth of goods in the hold, waiting to find a factory which is almost out of one of those resources... Or do you have to do the donkey work? In order for me to proceed to TLs I would need to know the exact trading protocol! }:> Re: TL trading Posted By: Boris Date: 18 Jan 2001, 10:08 In Response To: Re: TL trading (Martin aka The Devil) > Is trading done via the "fetch ware" option > to your freihters? Once it lands, select the landed ships, of the station, select your ship, then trade with station. That's all that's to it. Note: Do not send more than one freighter to a station, as one will unload will usually drop the price that much, of which will not make it profitable for sending a second at the same station. Why not use the frieght beamer, and trade directly!? }:> Re: TL trading Posted By: Paul Knibbs Date: 18 Jan 2001, 16:43 In Response To: Re: TL trading (The Devil) > Bit long winded isn`t it? Why not use the frieght > beamer, and trade directly!? Because you can't use the freight beamer between a ship and a station, only between two ships. Shame, cos that would be an excellent upgrade, and save you time. Re: TL trading Posted By: hyjaax Date: 18 Jan 2001, 04:29 In Response To: TL trading (Martin aka The Devil) You need to have support craft available for the TL to ferry cargo back and forth. The Paranid Hercules in my view isn't worth the money. If you want a good TL go for the Boron Orca, Teladi Albatross, or if you can wait buy the Argon Mammoth. Then load them up with freighters. So far I have about 18 million. I'm saving for the Mammoth. Then I will load it with about 6 dolphins, fly to the Wall, buy ALL the energy I can at 6cr and then load them back on the Mammoth and fly off to trade it elsewhere. This is the only way you can trade with the TL. Also only go for the Mammoth if you really really really want the extra cargo room like I do and if you don't care about spending 45 million for it. The Orca is a good buy if you want to save some cash.
