About Neutral Bay School of Dance...

Neutral Bay School of Dance was founded by Philippa Davern in 1980 at it present location St Joseph’s Hall on the corner of Lindsay & Bydown Streets in Neutral Bay.

Virginia Gallagher has been the Director of the school since 1994. 

The school offers dance classes after school and on Saturdays, in classical ballet, lyrical contemporary and jazz technique, at all levels of study, from beginners 'Introduction to Ballet' for pre school aged children, to advanced pre-professional performance groups. 

 We aim to provide:     

Expert tuition from experienced, professional teachers in an environment of encouragement, discipline and friendship. We offer advice and guidance on request.      

Regular Events at our school include:

Annual Performance at Glen Street Theatre in November every year

Open Week - During final week of  every term parents are encouraged to observe their child’s class and support the presentation of Term Achievement Awards.

The Australian Ballet’s Education Program – an opportunity for young ballet students to observe company class, rehearsals and a performance at the Sydney Opera House.  

Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) Graded Examinations - At our studio in June every year. Students are also prepared for RAD Major Examinations.

The R AD was founded in London in 1920 by a group of celebrated European dancers and has grown to represent the very highest standards in the teaching of classical ballet. The RAD has simultaneously become the largest and most influential public examining body for classical ballet, operating in over 50 countries worldwide.
