There appears to be one main family spelling their name McMORRINE in America who are descended from Samuel Shankland McMorrine who emigrated there from Scotland in the early  1900s.  Several other McMorrines arrived earlier and since but do not appear to have anywhere near as many descendants.

Several emigrants with the spelling McMORINE appear to have travelled from Scotland to Canada and America and they are covered seperately on The McMORINEs of America & Canada site.

The family of James McMorrine of Kirkcudbright and Dumfries, Scotland that is detailed below (from which the American McMorrines are descended through Samuel Shankland McMorrine) is almost certainly related to the family of Thomas McMorrine who married Catherine Boddin in Dumfries.  It is likely that James and Thomas were brothers and possibly that his wife Margaret Bodden and Catherine were sisters.  Four of Thomas and Catherine's children emigrated to Australia and founded the only family of that name there (see The McMorrines of Dumfrieshire/Kirkcudbirghtshire).
