APR 1875 in Valleyfield, Quebec.  (2) Married 6 NOV 1878 in Williamsford, Sauble, Grey County, Ontario, CATHERINE BELL, (daughter of CHARLES RICE and MABEL FERGUSON). This family emigrated from Scotland to Ontario following the birth of William in 1854.  They later moved to Harriston where James ran the "Bummers Roost" hotel
