In this section we will take a few premises 'as read'. The most important of which is that the Virtues are objective
realities, and as objective realities we can interface with them.
They have independent existence, are not a construct of our
imagination. See 'Virtues as Objective
Reality'. The second aspect is accepting the grid model. (See the Virtue Matrix
as multidimensional grid) It is now important to move from theory to practice, and to look
at how we can actually and actively interact with the Virtues. Firstly we need to access them. Worship, Prayer and blessing are a practical way. The holy
Spirit inspires these. In the holy spirit one will feel
enriched by love or any combination of virtues, and in freedom can
allow this awareness or knowing to flow to the awareness of God, or
another person or situation. This also incorporates physical acts as
human reality is not subdivided into separate physical and spiritual
boxes. The early church reserved sections of its life for spiritual
love, known as Agape. To spiritually love another
is another way of actively interacting with the Virtue Matrix. The
Kiss of peace was a core component, love feasts were another.
The idea is to become familiar with the grid, to become sensitive
to nuances within the grid, to extend oneself within the grid is a
form of language that can be shared with both God and other
people. (See Language). It is important to understand the principal of Flowing. The
Holy Spirit is often referred to using the metaphor of water, and
this is important for understanding the spirital nature of
the Virtue Matrix which is sourced in the Holy Spirit. In the Virtue Matrix it is necessary not only to know the virtues, but
to flow the virtues. Using the metaphor of sound, flowing is the principal of
volume. the Virtue Matrix is an interactive realm and to communicate
one needs to be heard. How does one flow the virtues in the Virtue Matrix? Firstly you need to understand that given the realm is objective
not subjective, you do not need to conjure up or manufacture the
virtues. They are real and they truly exist, they must be
accessed. They are accessed through the heart and creating
much space for them. There are the preliminary issues of basic Christianity, and importantly
being cleansed of vices by Christ and 'born again' with a spiritual
body through the Holy Spirit. (See Born of the
Spirit - Spiritual bodies) From here it is a matter of shunning all vices and then entering
in. There will be struggles and interferences, but provided a
person is quick to open themselves to God when things go awry, there
should be no major problems. St Paul was profound in stating that we love God because he first
loved us. We must be open to being loved, and be open to all
nuances of virtue that are flowing to us and receive them. As
we receive them, we know them and can then flow them to others. We learn to become passionate about the Virtue Matrix and look for new
combinations and permutations of virtues as a passionate
ornithologist looks for new birds, and can identify them the next
time she sees them. Warning: where any vices exist within a combination of virtues, the realm is
not the Virtue Matrix. |
