Jesus spoke to Nicodemus of being 'Born Again' or 'Born of the
Spirit'
(See also NT clues on virtues as the
mystery of the Kingdom of God)
Jesus came to usher in the Age of the Holy Spirit and in this
context came preaching the Kingdom of God. The God Jesus
preached was good. The Holy Spirit is truly God, and his fruit
are the Virtues.
Where Paul speaks of the Fruit of the Spirit, the word he uses in
the original Greek is KARPOS. KARPOS can be translated 'birthings'.
The word is used of Jesus being 'the fruit of Mary's Womb', and 'the
fruit of David's loins'. This realted to the reality of Jesus
physical body.
So if the Holy Spirit has fruit, and these fruit are the virtues,
and if we are to be born again of the Holy Spirit, it follows that
our new bodies are to be comprised of these virtues.
How does this work?
First we need to ask what a body is. Without getting too
technical we can say that a body provides an individual or
collection of entities with an discrete mode for interfacing with
others.
A physical body enables me to interact with the physical world
and those within that realm, a spiritual body enables me to interact
with the spiritual world and those within that realm.
The spiritual realm we are interested in is the Virtues.
If my physical hand comes into the same 4 dimensional time space
as another physical body I make contact with the person whose body
that is.
If my spiritual body is resonating with the same multidimensional
virtues as another spiritual body, I make contact with
the person whose body that is.
Whereas in 'physical' time space I own my molecules, and so know
them intimately, in the Virtues, stretching out from my conception
point, I share the grid according to the virtues I know. In Christ
that stretching out takes on the dimension of flight through the
realm of the Virtues through God's free gift of the Holy Spirit.
In the New Testament the concept of the Spiritual Body is also
discussed under Clothing of Virtues and the Concept of a dwelling or
temple.
The body of Christ both contains and fills the Virtues. It is in him we live
and move and have our being.
