NEW CD Rewind and songbook Noted! NOW AVAILABLE
August 2008 Michael heads of for his annual Germany tour, all gigs posted here.
Michael recently recorded "Stay", a smouldering ballad with Qld
songstress Keri McInerney. A video will be available soon. Michael
& Brisbane singer/songwriter Rose Carleo have recorded a 5 track CD "Reach Out" with all proceeds going to suicide awareness to help raise funds (& awareness) for this worthy cause. The EP will be available early September.

April 2008 Michael
visited the USA, & while in New York interviewed & played with
Les Paul (still playing great at age 92!) at the Iridium Jazz Club.
Look out for an upcoming feature in the Australian Guitar Magazine.
Also on the itinerary was a visit to the D'addario factory. D'addario
have been supporting Michael since 1996. Keep an eye on the 'tours' page for details of Michaels first Japan tour (May/June)

December 2007 Merry
Christmas everone! Just back from a 10 week Europe trip. Too many
highlights to mention; an amazing trip that covered most parts of
Germany, plus Holland and Italy too. Audiences everywhere were amazing,
frequent standing ovations, CDs selling like hot cakes…did I
mention cakes? Superb beer, cakes, sausage and bread…oh
no…drooling again.

Late breaking news! Michael is once again a finalist in the 36th CMAA Country Music Awards of Australia, for Best Instrumental, with Hobbity Hoi. Also finalist 2008 Victoria CM awards.

Michael has been songwriting with Jeff Burton & Rose Carleo. Three
of these tracks have been recorded by Rose on her debut album Everything I Need, including the title track. You can hear it here
June 2007 Michael
has been working on a new CD Rewind (release: August) and a book of
transcriptions Noted! featuring some of Michael's most popular compositions.
Both will be launched at a special concert at The Basement (Sydney)
August 13. Michael has been awarded the Artist of the Festival Award by popular vote by respondents to a Survey. "Your many new fans in Mount
Beauty and district wish you continued success" says Rollo Kiek,
Festival Director.
January 2007 check out A taste of country cookbook; a superb 128 page full colour cook book full of culinary inspiration from Australian country music artists.
Proceeds support Mental Health in rural Australia.
December 2006 Hello
friends, I’d like to take the opportunity to thank you for the
support you’ve given me over the past 12 months. It’s been
a fantastic year, I’ve visited so many new cities & towns,
met many of you along the way, and have formed many special friendships.
I’m taking a break from touring till February. I’m spending
some time at home, working on some recording projects, including my own
new CD planned for mid-2007 release. A songbook is also in the
pipeline, as are plans for more Europe tours next year.
Also a personal thanks and public acknowledgement of some people who
are instrumental in my career (small pun intended!) These folks support
and encourage, and their contribution to my career is much appreciated:
