Who are there guys?
Mercury Games is a partnership of professional people from different
backgrounds. We have been playing PBM games for over 10 years, and decided to
turn our favourite hobby into a serious business. We treat all our customers
as valued clients, and look forward to providing you with an efficient,
friendly, reliable and professional service that you will recommend to your
friends.
While we are committed to making Mercury Games a professional and successful
enterprise, we are still gamers at heart. We understand the concerns of our
customers. Our business is founded on the belief that playing play-by-mail
games is a valuable and enriching pastime that can appeal to a wide range of
people.
The future of PBM Games
The last few years have seen some revolutionary developments in communications
technology, and the communications marketplace. The changes to the phone systems
have reduced long distance call charges dramatically. Facsimile technology has
become commonplace, and many computers and copiers can send and receive faxes.
Modems have steadily increased in speed and reduced in cost, and use of
the internet and bulletin boards for electronic mail and file transfers are
fast becoming the preferred information medium of the future.
Do all of these changes mean that play-by-mail games will die out? We can't
see it happening! The essential elements of PBM are only enhanced by the new
technology. The incredible expansion in communication technology just
highlights peoples desire to interract with one another. PBM games still provided one
of the most intensely interractive leisure experiences available today.
While communications are advancing, so is computer interface technology. We
are bringing all of our PBM games out of the paper and ink era, with PC
support programs for existing games.
We are currently developing a new game of space exploration and adventure,
with a richness, depth and ease-of-use that paper cannot provide.
Code-named "STAG", it will retain the intense player interraction of
the classic PBMs with an fully automated interface.
How to Contact Us
We now have a new office in Western Sydney. Our fax is available 24 hours.
While we all currently have 'day jobs', our answering machine is ready 24 hours
to take messages.
If you know exactly what the problem is, please give as much details as
possible on the answering machine, so that we can deal with it without the need
to return your call. This saves your time and ours, and gets the problem fixed
faster. STD and ISD calls will be returned when necessary, but usually at night
or weekend rate times, so please bear this in mind when waiting for a reply.
