I nearly reneged on the walk up to the Marienbrücke, which was steep! But I learned it was the view to see, so I hurried up after the others. This is where you get your view of the castle of Neuschwanstein, built by King Ludwig.

It is the castle Disneyland is based upon. I had the idea it was ancient, but there are photographs of its building, so it is since the invention of photography. We were extremely early, since we had seen the queues yesterday, and got tickets for 10am. The castle is equally beautiful inside, though it was never completed. Well worth a visit!
