Like most places, Mesa Verde was hot. The dwellings were protected from the elements by the cliff.
As we drove along I tried a few pictures through the window. It was tinted, so the picture will not be true color, but here is a dust devil:
On the next day we visited Monument Valley. This is not a national park, but part of the Navajo Nation. It is a photographer's dream, but not as accessible as the Arches, because there are no things to go up and touch. They are on a huge scale.
